2013, acrylic on threaded nails (butcher cord), wood panels, 48"w x 48"h x 2"d
I was trying to explore the connection between art and science. I wanted to try something new. I would like to get out of my comfort zone. I began exploring possibilities in painting. Now I would like to push myself further and bring a more three-dimensional element to my work. My goal is to experience lines, which are made from different lengths of butcher cord, and threads that interact with them. Then I focus on the abstract paintings on both sides of the panel. My hope is to make a series of mini experiments or studies about the different ways I can use this material and combine my research into the final pieces, taking a scientific approach to creating abstract art.
