As one of our organization’s Core Values, Social Responsibility is an integral part of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services’ identity and how we do business. We believe community starts here, and we are committed to strengthening our local communities by giving back in four main focus areas: education, community enhancement, arts and culture, and diversity and inclusion.

Focusing on the arts and creative interaction, we aim to promote diversity of thought and generate inspiration and innovation within our company and throughout our communities. Additional components of our Experiencing Perspectives art exhibition include the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Emerging Artist Award, which recognizes artistic promise with a grant and accommodations to live and work in Berlin for two months and an Annual Art Scholarship program.

The Creative Collaboration program brings together students from Detroit’s College for Creative Studies with a range of our community partners to assist in providing creative problem-solving and solutions to address needs they may not have the in-house resources to tackle.

Through our sponsorship of the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra, a part of the Sphinx Organization, MBFS has helped provide classical music from this unique all Black and Latinx orchestra to various locations around the country.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services’ partnership with Art Road Nonprofit, supports the organization’s efforts to bring art classes back into elementary public schools in Southeastern Michigan. Throughout the school year, many employee volunteers work on creative art projects with the students of Edison Elementary and Charles Wright Academy of Arts and Science.

As a result of our sponsorship of three Detroit Public Schools, students are benefitting from the InsideOut Literary Art Project’s school residency, which places professional writers in schools to conduct workshops that engage students’ imaginations and introduce them to the pleasure and power of writing.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services looks beyond sponsorships to build true partnerships with the nonprofit organizations we work with. For us, it’s not just about a few days of volunteering each year; it’s about creating meaningful experiences and lasting social change.
