Waves of Fire

Wood skewers and acrylic on canvas, 2016, 30"w x 30"h x variable depth

My painting is an expanded project that I recently completed in my studio. Utilizing high-quality paint, wood skewers and glue, I tried to create layers with the skewers, adding depth and dimension to attract viewers’ eyes. The three-dimensionality of the composition and the contrast it contains suggest melting points and waves of fire. The reds and yellows capture playing with fire and the shifting waves of flames.
