During the art production process there is a material runoff in which a large volume of waste is produced. The reuse of materials from found and discarded items has at times been a strategy to compensate for the problematic notion of making objects and “things” that do not have a specific function in the world. The text, “No nos importa equivocarnos y repetir porque el material es barato,” is borrowed from Mexican printmaking history to examine a similar approach to making art from trash materials, except this time, the art product is a consciously repeated mistake.
