Pair I is from a body of work intended to be raw and minimal in aesthetic. Basic materials in their unrefined forms are altered only slightly through a weaving process to produce a painting without paint. By eliminating the factors of color, realism, abstraction, and metaphor, a sense of neutral consistency is created. The result is honest in materiality and walks a fine line between sculpture and painting — a diptych that emulates symbiosis throughout.
