Oil on panel, 2019, 8"w x 11"h
This short body of work consists of painted images of different types of candy, which were taken from photographs that were digitally abstracted. The objective of this series was to create balanced compositions, as well as color relations within each piece, in a way that was pleasing to observe.
These pieces were made as a reaction to the amount of digital images that I consume every day. This creates a desire for interactions with images that have been materialized through the medium of painting—an experience which is, perceptually, far more nourishing and satisfying than that of digital images.
