This piece is part of the project A Place Revisited, which consists of paintings of architectural structures found in cities from my childhood in Monclova, Mexico, and San Antonio, Texas. The images have been fragmented through the intervention of digital and analog tools in order to create structural and spatial ambiguity.
More than being mere portraits of a city, these paintings are a visual analogy of the destabilization of personal identity structures—especially as they relate to my own perceived cultural identity.
