2009, Altered/manipulated gallery books, 10"w x 5"h x .25"d
This work is from the series Contents and Comments. The work in this series is based on evaluating the material potential of a set of guide books. By removing and reorganizing the information from hand-cut/manipulated areas, I was able to reformat the structure of the original books. By using only the material that was removed, I reorganized it so that all pages of the book are represented on one visual field. This creates a structural unity within the contents of books, suggesting all parts are used to create the collective visual whole.
