Prolactin is based on the biomolecular structure of prolactin. The molecule is rendered in the tradition of organic chemistry, with the dark lines representing chemical bonds and the implied lines dividing color planes corresponding to hydrogen. Prolactin is involved in inducing lactation post-birth; it represents awareness of the need to nurture something until maturity. Symbolically, it represents sustaining something new. It’s depicted at the molecular level and rendered in a dirty glaze to emphasize the gritty nature of meaningful accomplishment.
