My artwork explores the relationship between humans, nature and the dynamics of power that can shift between a culture and the environment over time. We have an innate desire to control and cultivate nature, but in our absence our built environment becomes a trellis for nature to overrun. In my work, I am searching for possibilities of collaboration and cross-pollination at the intersection of this tension. I am exploring how to record and concretize the fragile equilibrium between persistence and decay that all living things are subject to as our world cycles onward.
