“Impermanent are all component things, They rise and cease, that is their nature: They come into being and pass away, Release from them is bliss supreme.” — Mahaa-Parinibbaana Sutta
My body of work, Amongst White Clouds, is an ongoing discussion on finding equilibrium within by uncovering our unconditioned selves with the goal of fully embodying humility. Influenced by the religious art all around Florence, I revisit my own spiritual root in Buddhism and explore its doctrines of Impermanence, Oneness and Non-duality. My paintings aim to act as buffers between our conditioned response and conscious response and at the same time provide empathetic spaces for private contemplation.
