Cosmopolitan is a digitally altered view of Dundas Square, treading between colorful abstraction and recognizable form. As an artist, I was drawn to this new way of visualizing a Toronto night scene that was initially an editing mistake in Photoshop. Precious silver, gilded to the canvas, enhances the movement of light in the piece, which corresponds to the sensory input of a city. When combined with the modified urban imagery, this literal silver lining adds intrinsic value to the notion of finding new ways of seeing the world (if even just by accident).
