My practice is heavily influenced by the Christian Greek Orthodox culture and comes from a longing for a sense of gathering—a community of people joined in an effort to understand my ancestral history. I focus upon bridging the Greek culture in Canada with that of Greece by seamlessly making transitions from one canvas to the next by intermingling found, personal images and recorded footage. I intend to preserve the traditional aspects of the culture while simultaneously being involved with these social events, which are becoming less of an interest to the younger generation.
