2010, Etching, drypoint, engraving and mezzotint, 20"w x 28"h
The last two years have led me to explore what is valuable to being human, what is worth protecting, and what needs to be re-evaluated. I use text in my work because I am interested in being clear and direct, even while the subject matter and content of language can be vague and ambiguous. In these prints, Change and Growth and Information and Knowledge, I am concerned with words that are so commonly used they are seemingly stripped of their meaning. I am re-examining these words through contrast and association.
