With this new work, I am beginning to explore the following ideas:
– Impermanence
– Non-verbal systems of communication
– Pattern and maps as language
– Gesture and proxemics
I am interested in pairing the photodegradation process with ideas about sending a message in a meditative way. The construction paper provides a sense of urgency due to it’s availability and quickness to fade. I am also interested in the nostalgic quality and the temperature of the colors once the fading has taken place.
