My work is heavily influenced by the coastline. The horizon is a clear comparison of finite meeting infinite, a true reflection of the interplay of all existence. Real sand from the Texas coast is incorporated with the paint. The organic element brings the tangible reality of the passage of time into the scene. The extreme jeweled tones in a sunset following a coastal storm make the last rays, when hitting the retreating showers, the world’s best light show.
