Diary of a Human Hand I, II

Watercolor on paper, 2015, 38"w x 50"h (each)

Diary of a Human Hand is a series of “automatic” works in which a period of continuous mark making serves to distinguish the act of painting from the mundane. Contained within the boundaries of an indelible mark is a cause-and-effect chain of aesthetic decisions resulting in a composition. The work contains no intentional ideology; instead it is an artifact of one person, in a room, aiming at creating a painting with complete equanimity regarding the result.
