A faint light ray, flowing amidst an unlit, dark interior carries the power to illuminate the spaces I create in my works. I am interested in that path of light as it dances around the room, reflecting on corners, forming obscure darks and shadows and evoking an eerie atmosphere. Referencing my childhood nightmares, I construct abandoned sites to narrate a communal anxiety of isolation concerning uninhabited spaces during the nighttime. Using tints of blues and green to evoke a nocturnal setting, the imaginary sites are meant to be livable but contain no depiction of living beings, arousing feelings about the safety of these places.
