The sensory overload of images we are subjected to every day is what really excites and pushes me to create my paintings. They are pieced together from appropriated images I surround myself with. As I flip through fashion, architecture, design and style magazines, I’m constantly ripping out colours, patterns and images to use as source material for my digital collages that are then turned into paintings. My titles are taken from movies and songs that I’ve listened to while creating the works. This creates my own personal narrative for the work and gives viewers clues, pushing them to develop their own narratives and ideas about the work.
