Through painting I try to materialize the feelings of awe, wonder, calmness and fear that come from being in nature. My interest in the idea of soft fascination—nature as a restorative property to calm anxiety and stress, my interest in the containment of nature in a macro and micro scale—is what fuels my body of work. I pick and choose parts of plants or landscapes that I find visually interesting and enticing based on their aesthetics to come up with unique hybrids. I create worlds or recreate personal memories from my own image sources, images from the Internet or from real life.
