My work intends to express the ambiguity and impermanence of memory as well as explore the ways in which memories have an impact on our sense of self. The use of photography highlights the efforts we make in attempting to preserve and extend a significant memory. I create cyanotype prints of childhood photos or scenes that evoke feelings of nostalgia, then manipulate them through processes that mimic how a memory fades, changes or is lost after time. The approach to abstracting each piece varies and is determined by my own emotional responses to the content.
