I explore the simple beauties of existence. From 2016 to 2017, I lived in New Zealand where I deeply connected with the Māori (indigenous people of New Zealand) culture. My connections returned with me to the United States and influenced my artworks. I have incorporated different symbols commonly used in Māori art into my work. Koru, the spiral, represents the developing fern, which symbolizes new life, growth, strength and the harmony between the chaos of change and the calm of every day. My work is the outcome of a repetitive, therapeutic process that guides me in the exploration of being.
