My paintings are created using automatic drawing, a surrealist technique used to release the subconscious. I use interweaving scratched lines and waves of color to open up new ways of perceiving the realm of the mind and spirit. I apply conscious and unconscious marks on the canvas, layering the paint and revealing areas where I scrape away. What is hidden and what is revealed implies the difficulty of perceiving the unknown. My paintings invite the viewer to discover deeper meaning through perception and introspection of the materials and processes.
