Found object, yarn, 2015, 36"w x 120"h x 36”d

Created through a systematic process and Jasper Johns’ 1964 sketchbook entry—“Take an object. Do something to it. Do something else to it”—I found a broken tree. I compressed the tree in yarn. I hung it upside down. Originally, the tree had a branch that reached out five feet from its trunk before being compressed.
