Using family photographs as reference material, my paintings examine the elusive nature of memory. Most of the photographs were taken in Winnipeg, where my family has lived for generations. Some of the objects and landmarks represent my Franco-Manitoban heritage. Other photos were taken in the Philippines in the 1950s, around the time my paternal grandparents immigrated to Canada. The paintings are ambiguous, allowing the viewer to interpret the images in their own way.
