I use the metaphor of antiquated rowboats or canoes to explore the power of contemporary romance. The vessels contain the emotions about which the paintings speak. They appear adrift on expansive seascapes. The boats cast shadows and leave reflections of moments from my romantic past. Meeting You is about the moment when you realize that the person you have met is someone you love.
