Growing up in the suburbs, I spent a tremendous amount of time experiencing the world through the windshield of a vehicle: moving through a vast landscape of highways, roads and parking lots, always traveling toward a destination. This distant and constantly changing landscape was fleeting and surreal. This body of work has been an exploration of these non-places—the transitory parts of our landscape that lie in between. Referencing found imagery, these detached, fragmented and sometimes desolate spaces are materially explored through tactile mark making.
