The primary focus of my current body of work centers on the limitations of culturally developed ideals and norms in Western society. My materials vary in origin, from construction supplies to artist and domestic materials. Presented in tandem, they create a dialogue about disparity and similarity among gendered objects. Within the work, questions of identity play out through a layering of materials, text and visual imagery that work to provoke fractures in conventional narratives of power.
