Inspired by the tremendous capacity of human beings to weather life’s difficult challenges, my current work investigates the concept of resilience, exploring the intangible moment when the balance shifts and the disruption and discord of adversity moves into cohesion and life-affirming growth. Employing references to the earth—its grounding and stabilizing energies—and calling upon the materiality of surfaces and textures, resulting works represent a creative inquiry into the place in which resilience arises and a tenuous structural integrity holds.
