The water dripping down from the window not only obscures the scene in front of the viewer’s eyes but also transforms it into an abstract of blurred colours and rippled shapes that were once recognizable objects. The image holds a sense of mystery—the way the eyes and mind attempt to interpret what is actually present in the landscape versus what is a product of one’s own imagination. In this way, smears of light and colour bleed into one another to the point where the separation between the two is seemingly indistinguishable.
