House paint and stain on wood, 2017, 44"w x 43"h

Staining and painting wood has many meanings and correlations. My work deals with construction, labor and household projects as creative healing. Staining a coffee table or Sunday painting, I am fascinated with how creativity and projects are used as a form of meditation. With these works I am focusing on how the wood is constructed and how different types of wood function in relation to one another. All the materials are found and purchased at hardware stores. Domestic materials and techniques carry their own weight and bring a unifying stance on what art can be and for whom.

Due to the building guidelines that are in place in response to the COVID-19 situation, we are unable to install a new art exhibit in our Farmington Hills, Michigan and Fort Worth, Texas offices.

Thankfully, the majority of artists who currently have their work on display in our Michigan and Texas locations have graciously allowed us to continue to do so through the spring of 2021. We would like to extend a huge thank you to those artists and we look forward to continuing with a new exhibition in the summer of 2021.
