At a young age I was introduced to optical illusions and since then have always had an appreciation for them. I am fascinated by how people can see different things even if they are looking at the same object or image. For example, a simple idea of a cloud formation can be interpreted in a variety of ways; one might say he sees a horse where another might say she sees a dog. By creating an abstracted form using different textures, bright colors and a variation of brush strokes, Perry forces the viewer to question and interpret what he or she sees.
