The stories of Brer Rabbit and Brer Fox have been collected and retold for generations. These puppets take the characters off the pages of children’s books to give them a new setting in a contemporary conversation. I am working to present the parallels between old folktales and real events that keep happening over and over again. The morals that children’s stories sought to teach remain relevant today, especially when our culture has not learned the lessons.
