I have always been fascinated by language and the various ways we use it when communicating with each other, whether it be in written, spoken or gestured (hand signals). In my work, I use printmaking—with shape, texture, color, line and textual elements—to explore the world of communication and its different forms because it is similar to the process of transcribing and translating ideas when using spoken, gestured and written language. I also use it to express ideas regarding the definite disconnect that always occurs among humans in the process of communicating.
