MFA 2019
Drypoint, gouache, 2018, 28"w x 44"h
My work questions what goes on in life and the traces of thoughts made in the process of searching for answers. I explore how the absence of something can simultaneously prove its existence. For example, palm trees are things I can find easily in my hometown. However, they are not present in Michigan. They are something that is very much a part of my daily life in Korea, but I do not see them here. This scenario extends to other things that have a big presence in our lives and the sense of loss we feel when we can’t see or feel them.
