One day my grandma was wearing a striped sweater and sat in a striped chair and disappeared. In Southern California there is a mountain within 15 miles of me, but I couldn’t see it for five months due either to haze or fog. I like to climb to the top of a hill near my apartment and look for landmarks, marking them present or absent. I am obsessed with the TLC show Sister Wives and wonder if I could live like that. Whenever I am stuck, I look to artist Pierre Bonnard.
