My work challenges a conventional framing of the landscape by interrupting the photographic frame with ephemeral sculptures and collage. Line, shape and color are inspired by the particulars of place, combined with the kinetics of elemental forces. Whether confronting the new and unfamiliar in a place that I am passing through or revisiting a favorite thicket or beach, I am continually compelled by the tension between elucidation and obfuscation inherent to photographic representation.
