In this piece, the physical reality of a gravestone marker grapples with the intangibility of a person’s soul. It is the companion to a video piece in which the artist dresses in a handmade “stone” suit and lies restfully among gravestones. The title is drawn from the Jewish tradition of setting a stone on a grave as a tribute to the person’s memory.
