Color in my work is a means of gaining sensitivity and empathetic awareness to the surrounding environment. I’m drawn to it as a perceptual tool and a motivator for looking. Working intuitively, I manipulate color with the materiality of paint or with pixels in the digital realm. Often intuitively combining these processes together—they are essentially indistinguishable for me. They inform each other, distinctly shaping the imagery that I produce as an illusory respite from the demands of the world.
