Susan Stewart’s definition of a souvenir from her 1984 book On Longing serves as a pivotal influence for the nuance of memory, site and material throughout my studio practice. Sculptures are souvenirs in this body of work, living as objects of memory from physical experience, and are removed from their natural location, sitting patiently still on our kitchen windowsills.
