As an immigrant woman of color in the U.S., I am driven to explore and expose issues of place, labor, language, sexism, racism, immigration and colonialism. Using intuition and research, I seek to uncover dynamics of power, connection and loss in ways that help us feel systemic cruelties and their histories and celebrate what resists or escapes them. Visually this opposition shows up in my aesthetic, which can sometimes be minimal and understated and at other times be wild with improvised color.
