2013, Acrylic on canvas, 48"w x 48"h
It is not what an artist can do to art, but what art can do to the artist. My process allows me to experience a longing for the state of completion, which I can only achieve by becoming more patient and in harmony with my will to paint. To begin, I mix acrylic paint with heavy gel medium. Then, using a small brush, I scoop a tiny blob of paint, shape it into an imperfect prolate spheroid and poke it onto the canvas. One blob at a time, I meticulously repeat this gesture until I have filled up the entire surface of the canvas.
