While traditional Korean art is not fancy or colorful, it is an elegant depiction of beauty. As we push forward in the 21st century, many of the traditional Korean arts are being forgotten due to innovative progress in contemporary arts. I attempt to use contemporary ceramics to depict traditional Korean artistic styles and motifs. I do not want to make only traditional pottery or other decorations that have been created for centuries. Rather, I strive to be involved with exciting and new elements of the ceramics world while paying homage to my cultural artistic styles.
