I attempt to re-create the urban landscape of the place I am from in a series of unsteady structures that respond in a chaotic way to a city’s uneven topography. In many ways, my paintings are political landscapes, their main function to become unsettling reminders of the growing misery. I underscore the deterioration of the city’s crumbling infrastructure, the place I am from, but that today I hardly recognize.
