Untitled (prayer beads)

clay, gold leaf, 2015, 4"w x 48"h x 2"d

In Buddhism, prayer beads should be held between your thumb and index finger when you are reciting Buddhist scriptures. Toggling the beads one by one, you will know how many times you have recited the scriptures. However, the prayer beads in Buddhism are not only about the counting system. They are about touching and the immutable loyalty to the Buddha. Every time you touch the beads, the gold leaf will get on your hand. Over time, the gold leaf will not appear on the beads anymore. But the Buddha will be with you in spirit forever.

Due to the building guidelines that are in place in response to the COVID-19 situation, we are unable to install a new art exhibit in our Farmington Hills, Michigan and Fort Worth, Texas offices.

Thankfully, the majority of artists who currently have their work on display in our Michigan and Texas locations have graciously allowed us to continue to do so through the spring of 2021. We would like to extend a huge thank you to those artists and we look forward to continuing with a new exhibition in the summer of 2021.
