Inspired by the jazz album Liquid Spirit by Gregory Porter, I wanted to share my idea that as an artist there is no way to truly capture a person’s essence or spirit, as we are vessels in constant movement. Using a gold atomic structure in the place of skin, and muscle and planets to represent life, Hands of Eve is a metaphorical depiction showing the essence of a working mother—a caregiver and creator whose spirit and essence are like liquid flowing in and out of her hands.
