I grew up in Taiwan, where diverse and sometimes conflicting cultural narratives are buried underneath the dominant Chinese narrative, reflecting the successive colonization from other nations. I also come from an extended family that has embraced Western faith. The complicated relationships with the local cultures affected me deeply. This juxtaposition of values and symbols greatly inspires my artistic inquiry, reflecting my struggle to make sense of the world and my desire to find harmony.
