Much of how we interpret and understand things is dictated by the systems already in place that influence our perspectives. In my work, I investigate those existing systems and constructs to examine how we interpret and categorize natural objects. I manipulate scientific systems and ways of classification to survey our perspectives and how we process what we see. I do this by applying familiar systems to unfamiliar imagery. My work also explores imagery based in science fiction in an attempt to better understand the possibilities of the unknown and the effects of our actions.
