Fabric, 2018, 5"w x 27"h x 1"d
Jewelry is not merely an adornment outside the body. I see jewelry as the extension of the body and the orifice through which the world enters the body. Since fabric suggests the most wearability and renders the most intimacy with the body, I employ fabric with certain tactility that entertains either my obsession or repulsion embedded in my childhood memory while jewelry-making. I also value the energy and sincerity of the repetitive process of making—stitching, knotting, looping—through which I reflect on the passage of time and the dreary daily routine that chains the urban dwellers.
