My work celebrates children’s early experience of water. Using the tools of childhood—water, paint and modeling clay—I endeavor to capture the changing face of water as seen from a child’s perspective. As nature’s mirror, bodies of water reflect the changing moods of the sky. Churning winds and ripple tides trick childhood eyes into seeing blue, green, yellow, purple, brown and even pink. As children grow they learn that water is what it is: a colorless liquid that comes out of taps, runs in streams and falls from the sky.
